Hi everyone, Latest SOLAR Labs update might have a bug which might result in application being unstable. Our team currently investigating that issue and will get back with the updates shortly.

An update on the current proposal: testing of the latest CosmWasm version with the test-net chain has just finished. While this waiting period is happening the code for all the technical upgrades is being finalized and tested. While this was ongoing, we decided to modify the proposal to accommodate some of the feedback we got from the community and validators: — Another vesting period was added after the staking contract lock period, meaning that the tokens are unlocked linearly after the lock period ends. -6 months linear unlock -12 months linear unlock -18 months linear unlock We modified the 3 staking contracts: - 1.25 years lock duration plus 6 months vesting for 1.06x the DVPN tokens - 2.5 years lock duration plus 12 months vesting for 1.12x the DVPN tokens - 5 years lock duration plus 18 months vesting for 1.18x the DVPN tokens Given the longer timeline also the DVPN amount was increased, we think the community is right when pointing out that the vesting contract unlocks would be pivotal events if done all at once, and we dont wanna bring any uncertainty to sentinel. — Feedback from multiple validators was also received, while everybody agrees on the initial drop in inflation it was pointed out that the inflation decrease of NEXT year, is too big and sudden (dropping by 50% validators profitability) so we decided to have the next drop be of 6%. So just to reiterate: If this proposal passes inflation will drop by 12% to 25% as planned. in November 23 (roughly in 12 months) inflation will then drop to 19% and 6 months later it would drop further to 13%. Now the proposal is finalized, we will wait 3 more days for feedback on this latest changes and then post in on chain.

Hey guys, ill clear up some of the misunderstanding around the proposal, the commonwealth will also get updated. The window for the chain to be updated is as soon as the code is ready and the proposals have passed on chain, so a minimum of 28 days (very high chance its more) either way we are not in a rush, so keep this in mind in your expectations on timeline. After the proposal nodes will be paying a tribute on their usage to stakers, the initial tribute will be extremely low % wise, but governance will be able to set it higher, later on. The tribute will not be upfront, but based on user consumption of the node bandwidth. The new inflation drop will be 12% even in november 2023. So inflation will drop to 25% when the chain is updated and later on to 13% in november 2023. Staking contracts are a one time thing, only available during this upgrade, there will be multiple governance proposals on chain, and by voting on those proposals you will be able to lock your tokens. The rate for 100 DVPN is as follow: 105 DVPN total 1.25 yrs 110 DVPN total 2.50 yrs 115 DVPN total 5 yrs So just to repeat someone locking 100 DVPN in the 5 years option would be getting an additional 15 DVPN tokens. The balances are updated upfront and can be compounded even if locked. We were approached by people interested on building DVPN specific applications on top of the cosmWASM that would be getting added with this proposal, the goal is to make sentinel a privacy hub centered around dvpn applications, one of this possible applications is in the very early stages and its being evaluated for funding. The whole DVPN infrastructure can benefit enormously from various tooling and incentive mechanisms built by third parties.

A response to Proposal 10 relayed to community The team supports a tokeconomic upgrade related to a decrease in inflation. Sentinel's current inflation reduction scheduled is structured to be a reduction of 6% every 6 months, with the next date of inflation reduction being on September 27th 2022. On this date the inflation rate will be reduced from 37% to 31%. The team supports the initiative for the inflation rate schedule to be amended, and believes that it would be important for the community to provide its feedback and insights which are required for a more thorough proposal can be made in a more holistic manner. The individual/individuals responsible for this proposal have strong intentions and wish the best for the community, however it is important for there to be discussion and input from stakeholders such as community members, 3rd party developers, whitelabel-hosts, validators, and application users. Therefore, the issuer of proposal 10 as well as the community are requested to undertake the same initiative of structuring an inflation decrease in a more thorough process of discussion with the intention of amending the inflation schedule on the exact halving date of the 27th of September.

This working integration is Sentinel's first working dVPN implementation that is compatible with desktop devices. Desktop Clients - The Solar Labs dVPN desktop clients will be soon available for testing and the previews will be shared in the coming days. The Math Nodes desktop application is also near completion and has multiple new features and functions that have been added since the last update. Network Tokeneconomics Update - High inflation economic theory in chains based on Cosmos is now largely changing from the events of the past months and Sentinel will be one of the forerunners of the economic change and will be making inflationary reductions. More information will be shared on this before the end of the month. Network Architecture Update - Currently the Sentinel dVPN network built on Cosmos uses Wireguard, however wireguard does not have a sophisticated relay architecture within the protocol itself. In response to the community discussion over whether 'Solar Labs dVPN application is better than Exidio dVPN app', it is important to re-state that Exidio continuously forked the core iOS/Android application that is being actively developed and upgraded by Solar Labs and there is a process of ongoing continuous bug fixing and application development from these earlier applications. The code for each application is available on GitHub and any centralized or decentralized development team can apply their own design or even edit the front-end interface and launch their own dVPN application that uses the global network of dVPN nodes. Teams can also opt to use the Sentinel-CLI to create build their own cross-platform applications and to not fork an existing 'ios' or 'android' dVPN application release that has been developed by another team like Solar. The Meile dVPN team has already built a terminal user-interface for access the dVPN network without any incentivization or direct communication with the core Sentinel dVPN team, and is aiming to build a desktop dVPN application as well. Each dVPN white-labelled application built on the Sentinel dVPN node network increases the network's overall global reach as each white-label application is intended to target a different demographic and cultural audience. The Exidio core team is not responsible for the functionality of the Exidio dVPN applications and was responsible more for ecosystem proliferation and marketing at the time while Solar Labs was responsible for the white-label application development on-top of the Sentinel-Cli and dVPN network protocol. As promised, the Solar Labs team continued to reiterate and improve the Android and iOS applications and these same applications would have been forked by Exidio today to target a different market audience. Due to the amicable and respectable departure, the Exidio applications have not been updated to Solar Labs most stable iOS/Android application releases. We would like to thank Dan and Peter specifically for all of the value added in the journey and internal rift is an unfortunate circumstance in the journey of many decentralized networks. The community can now focus on the rapid growth of the network both in-terms of dVPN node providers as well as application developers. Soon the Cosmos IBC network value and reputation will rise again after the UST debacle and there will be tremendous momentum and activity in the IBC ecosystem.

The Sentinel blockchain now has Authz support and is added to the Restake.app. This makes it easy for validators to provide an auto restaking feature for $dVPN delegators through @keplrwallet. Once enabled, delegators don't have to worry about compounding for one year as it's done automatically or until you stop it yourself sooner. Also, the validator will pay for the transaction fees.
