UPDATE ON NODE HOSTING/Incentive Program No new nodes can be hosted until: 2023-02-11 00:35:10 The Sentinel upgrade was successful except for an error where the maximum pricing for nodes was not configured along with the minimum pricing which was configured at 100 $DVPN/GB. Due to the missing input for maximum pricing, new dVPN nodes cannot be registered until a new proposal is passed setting a new maximum price. There will also be a proposal that will be issued decreasing the minimum duration for a proposal to be passed as 5 days to ensure dVPN network related code changes are implemented into the Sentinel Hub at a faster pace. The proposal for configuring the maximum pricing will be passed with changes being implemented at 2023-02-11 00:35:10 Current Proposed Minimum: 150 DVPN/GB Current Proposed Maximum: 300 DVPN/GB The community is currently engaged in discussions over new minimum/maximums to propose. The node incentive program will begin from the 15th of February with more details on specific incentive amount released soon. The new improved statistics page + map will also be hosted in the coming weeks and we will begin a new year with a very strong trajectory of statistics with increased node participation and multiple applications fueling the demand.

As mentioned before the new node incentive program will begin with the new upgrade so we should see a sharp increase in the number of community participants and very strong network trajectory again from the month of February Right now two key websites are being developed in parallel: 1) Sentinel new homepage 2) Sentinel stats page Both websites will be released in February V2Ray Focus: A very important and big update to make to the Sentinel community is the development focus on V2ray with the completion of the new dedicated network stats server+APIs. The Sentinel ecosystem has always recognized the importance of the Chinese ecosystem as it is the world's largest userbase of users who require a VPN application on a daily basis. However in the past years the ecosystem was unable to cater to the Chinese ecosystem as the networking protocols that Sentinel had integrated in the past have been restricted from China, these protocols include Wireguard, OpenVPN, Socks5. The team identified that the protocol V2Ray has been extremely strong in terms of its functionality with Chinese users and the independent community development organization MathNodes has been conducting v2ray server testing with users from our Iranian and Chinese communities and has validated our assumptions. Now the core Sentinel development team is shifting its focus onto integrating the v2ray server with the Sentinel blockchain, the way the Wireguard node is currently integrated. We hope to see testing of v2ray nodes integrated with the Sentinel chain to begin in the month of February. Now in 2023 Sentinel will be able to execute its strategy of building a strong Chinese ecosystem and providing value to community members based in China

Hey, guys just a clarification cause people have been asking in dm whoever voted YES on any of the staking contracts, will get their entire balance locked, both staked and unstaked tokens included additional tokens. That means anyone is still able to increase the staking contract balance by adding more tokens to that address till the day of the upgrade; at the same time if you dont want your unstaked tokens to be locked move them away from the address that voted yes to the staking contract.

The @MathNodes team has released a simple dashboard to monitor the number of subscriptions and amount of #dVPN token being locked for bandwidth payments to dVPN nodes by users using the #MEILE application.

MathNodes is working on several projects for Sentinel. One of them being an open access stats dashboard with metrics and pre-coded stats for Sentinel. Anybody will be able to login and check various charts, graphs, tables, and metrics about the Sentinel Network. Users will also have the ability to create their own metrics with the point and click stats builder and even add them to the public dashboard. For example, this table shows the new subscriptions added this past week with total spent on subscriptions. The IBC token in this instance is μDEC. There were 413 new DVPN subscriptions added with a deposit of 438M μDVPN and 47 DEC subscriptions added with just over 3.8M in μDEC deposited. We are hoping to roll this out to the public in the coming months.

Currently the only model in action is pay per gb, dvpb/gb. This is an interesting model however is not common in the overall vpn industry and can be argued as not as user-friendly

The command line interface client (CLI) for Sentinel #dVPN on #Windows is now available for release. This CLI application allows for users to connect to dVPN nodes from their Windows devices and allows for developers to build Windows based $dVPN apps.
