The dVPN narrative is getting stronger, the most hyped ETH l2 at this point of time has shown intention for onboarding a dVPN network.
It is important to note that a truly decentralized VPN network requires its own app-chain that is capable of handling the high throughput required for on-chain peer discovery (similar to an on-chain DHT). The Sentinel blockchain has processed around 9.7M transactions in the last 30 days - most of the transactions are attributed to dVPN logic related transactions.
Sentinel is a TRULY decentralized dVPN network, connection initiation and disconnection is on-chain, node registration is on-chain, node periodic up-time identification is on-chain.
On Sentinel, nodes message the blockchain consistently to indicate their presence and up-time, and dVPN applications built on Sentinel scan the blockchain in order to populate the list of available nodes.

A fundamentally decentralized dVPN network built on MegaETH cannot afford the transaction cost required for on-chain peer discovery and would have to depend on centralized masternodes that would help users identify active nodes without creating scalability/economic issues.
Instead of MegaETH sacrificing the ethos of decentralization for the sake of a native implementation, Sentinel can instead build a white-labelled dVPN application for the MegaETH ecosystem.
